Warhammer: Chaosbane Slayer Edition

I went in expecting Vermintide in the grim future, and that's roughly what Chaosbane Slayer Edition delivers. You pick a class (Psyker, Ogryn, Veteran, Zealot), grab melee or ranged weapons, and hold ground against waves of enemies across short missions. The stamina system forces actual positioning and cooldown thinking rather than button-mashing, block, dodge, push, repeat. Four-player co-op is seamless cross-platform, which matters when your squad needs coordination. The catch: there's minimal story scaffolding here. Tertium is under siege, you're rejects fighting back, and that's the skeleton. No companion arcs, no dialogue payoff, just operational briefings between runs. Build variety exists but feels incremental past hour 20. If you want tight Darktide-style gunplay with friends and don't need narrative teeth, it scratches that itch. Solo play is entirely viable but loses the energy. Not a game I'd replay for plot, but solid for squad nights.
