Compare Veterum prices across trusted key stores and find the best deal. Developed by Crasleen Games. Published by Crasleen Games. Released on 9/7/2026. Available on PC, Linux. Genres: Indie, RPG, Strategy.

A turn-based tactician that expects you to read the terrain before you read the story, and rewards the patience with one of the tighter indie combat systems this year.

Veterum wants your attention before it gives you anything: the first few hours are a slow audit of positioning, elevation, and which barrel you can shove into which enemy, and it does not care that you already know how tactics games work. Crasleen Games built the interactive environment as a real layer rather than set dressing, so a fight you lose flat-footed often turns into a clean win once you stop treating the map as a grid and start treating it as a weapon. The Order of the Gatekeepers framing is standard doomed-last-army stuff, but the open world hangs artifact hunting and quest chains off it well enough that exploration feels like build progression instead of a checklist. Where it thins out is writing. Characters state their motives and move on, and the choices you make rarely echo back in a way that survives a second playthrough. Quests lean on fetch structures more than the combat deserves. If you came for narrative payoff, this is not that game. If you came to squeeze a broken artifact loadout out of a system that clearly enjoys being broken, it holds up well past the point most indie tactics runs go stale. Monika, Scout Team

GamerScout Verdict

For tactics players who want a smart, environment-heavy combat system and can shrug off thin writing and fetch-quest padding.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.

Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.

We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.
