Three Kingdoms Zhao Yun (PC) Steam Key GLOBAL
Zhao Yun finally gets his own game, and it lands somewhere between a budget hidden gem and a mobile port that forgot to leave mobile behind. Three Kingdoms fans will tolerate a lot for that horse-lance combo.
GamerScout Verdict
Best for Three Kingdoms devotees who want an action-RPG spin on the era and can forgive budget-tier production values.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.

About Three Kingdoms Zhao Yun (PC) Steam Key GLOBAL
I went into this one with cautious optimism because the Three Kingdoms period is genuinely one of history's great soap operas, and Zhao Yun is exactly the kind of tragic, principled warrior who deserves a proper origin story. What I found is a top-down action RPG that hits a very specific itch, then scratches it for about 30 hours before you start noticing all the rough edges you had politely agreed to ignore. The core loop is hack-and-slash with a light ARPG layer on top, closer in feel to an older Titan Quest or a simplified Diablo than to anything narratively ambitious. You work through 12 story chapters set across 30-plus maps, fighting your way through the chaos of the late Eastern Han Dynasty as a young Zhao Yun who has not yet become the legend. The weapon variety is one of the genuine bright spots: spear, sword, bow, and mounted combat each have their own skill trees, meaning you can swap between a ground-based spear build and a horseback archer build and feel a meaningful difference in playstyle. Leveling up your horse and gearing it out is an unexpectedly enjoyable side system, and mounted combat with a lance has an energy that the on-foot fights sometimes lack. Multiple endings are tagged by the community, so your choices do carry some weight, though do not expect Disco Elysium-level branching. The companion system is where I started frowning. You pick up famous Three Kingdoms figures as allies, and the potential for real character drama is right there, sitting on the table, untouched. Companions rotate in and out of your party without much fanfare, their AI contribution in combat is minimal, and the gear you invest in them can feel pointless when they inevitably leave. For an RPG built around one of history's most character-dense eras, there is a frustrating shallowness to the human relationships. The writing, where it does land, rewards players who already care about the period and its figures. If the names Guan Yu, Liu Bei, and Lu Bu mean something to you, the story beats hit harder. If they do not, the narrative will feel like decorative wallpaper over a generic hack-and-slash. Technically, the game wears its budget openly. Graphics sit comfortably in mobile-game territory, and the English localization has improved post-launch but remains inconsistent enough to occasionally pull you out of story moments. Some players have reported screen-shake issues during heavy combat sequences, and the community has been vocal about the fact that over a year after launch, translation coverage still has gaps. The developers have patched steadily, which earns some goodwill, but the gap between what this game promises and what a well-resourced studio could have delivered with this IP is genuinely a little sad. If you are a Three Kingdoms enthusiast who has cleared the Koei catalog and wants something more action-oriented and character-focused, there is real enjoyment here, especially on the lower end of the price range. Build variety holds up reasonably well through the main story, the mounted combat system is more fleshed out than it has any right to be, and the sheer density of famous historical cameos gives the whole thing an affectionate, fan-made energy. Just go in knowing this is a budget action RPG with RPG ambitions it does not always meet, not the definitive Zhao Yun epic the legend deserves.
