About Shadow Dungeon
Think of the boss-rush pacing of Hades stripped of its writing staff. Shadow Dungeon (released in August 2026 from tiny studio OO Cat) wants the same thing: descend, die, tweak the build, descend again. What it does not want is to talk to you. The Demon Lord under the abyss is the entire plot, and the monsters between you and him are the entire cast. Combat carries it. Enemy density is high, the hit feedback is crunchy, and gear rolls encourage you to actually rebuild rather than stack the same three stats forever. Controller support is clean, cloud saves work, and the 88 percent Steam rating from a couple hundred players is earned by feel, not by ambition. My gripe is the one you would expect from me. There is no character arc here, no dialogue worth re-reading, and the late floors lean on enemy scaling instead of new ideas. If you want dragons with opinions, look elsewhere. If you want a tight, cheap-to-learn action RPG that respects your reflexes and not your reading list, this holds up for the fifteen or so hours it runs.
