A 50v50 WW2 tactical shooter built on brutal communication discipline and genuine teamwork. Hell Let Loose with more friction, more depth, and a smaller player pool to match.

Post Scriptum is not a shooter you pick up and click heads in. It is a 50v50 large-scale WW2 simulation built from the bones of Squad, set across maps that run anywhere from 4 to 8 square kilometers. You play Operation Market Garden, Operation Overlord, Plan Jaune, and other European theatre battles across factions including the British 1st Airborne Division, XXX Corps, Wehrmacht, and Waffen-SS. Roles are specialized: rifleman, medic, anti-tank, machine gunner, logistics driver, tank crew. You are not interchangeable. If the guy running ammo runs in the wrong direction, your squad goes dry and the flag flips. The TTK is punishing in the right way. Weapons like the Lee-Enfield No. 4, the MG 42, the MP 40, and the M1 Garand are modeled with real reload animations and firing weight. Positioning and cover matter more than twitch reaction. Tank combat leans toward actual armored warfare simulation: crews need to coordinate, and you are not going to outplay a Tiger by clicking faster. The built-in proximity VOIP, intra-squad radio, and inter-squad commander comms make the communication layer the actual skill ceiling here. Squads that talk win. Squads that go silent fall apart inside ten minutes. Here is where I have to be straight with you on the state of the game. The original developer Periscope Games went quiet around late 2022 and the IP was subsequently acquired by Offworld Industries (the team behind Squad) in late 2023. Offworld committed to a 2024 update roadmap and brought in Mercury Arts as collaborators. Whether that momentum has translated into meaningful server population is the real question mark. The player count situation is erratic: peaks spiked in December 2024 but the average daily figures remain thin compared to Hell Let Loose. You are looking at a game where finding a populated server at off-peak hours is not guaranteed, and a dead server in a tactical shooter kills the experience completely regardless of how good the underlying mechanics are. The mechanics are genuinely good. The spawn system, logistics driving, base building elements, and flag capture flow all reward coordination over individual performance in a way that most WW2 shooters do not even attempt. Historical accuracy on uniforms, equipment, and map geometry is well above the genre average. The foliage density on large maps means you actually need to use suppression, smoke, and flanking routes rather than just holding an angle. Optimization has had a rough history and character movement can feel sluggish in buildings, but post-acquisition patches have addressed some of these issues. If you played Squad and wanted that formula with bolt actions and period tanks, this is the closest thing available on PC. The honest bottom line: buy this if you have a regular squad to play with or are willing to join a community Discord and commit to organized play. Solo-queuing into disorganized public lobbies will burn you out before the first round ends. This is not a game that meets you halfway. Fred, Scout Team

Worth it only if you have a committed squad; solo players will bounce off the communication wall inside an hour.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.

Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.

We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.
