The sticker book is the mechanic that reorganized my whole approach. You decorate, you dress up, you arrange the surface of a case, and the game treats that fussing as real detective work rather than a cosmetic sideshow. Once I understood that, I stopped speed-reading for the "correct" branch and started treating each layout as a statement about what my girl detective was willing to look at. Porpentine's writing does the rest: horror pressed flat against romance until you cannot tell which one is doing the bleeding. It is short, it is authored, and it wants you to hit the bad ends rather than dodge them, which is the opposite of how most branching narratives train you. Achievements and cloud saves are the extent of the systems here, so anyone hunting build variety or a combat loop should look elsewhere. What you get instead is a voice with no interest in comforting you and a re-read that lands differently once you know where the floor gives out. I finished it in an evening and thought about it for three days.
