Midnight Murder Club

Midnight Murder Club is a co-op party shooter designed around proximity chat and flashlight-powered mayhem. You're in dark rooms with up to five friends, armed with a revolver and a flashlight, trying to survive waves of enemies while communication ranges based on how close you are to each other. The core hook is that shouting callouts into your mic becomes tactically relevant, not just background noise. Traps, tight sightlines, and limited visibility create genuine tension on paper. The problem is execution. Without a coordinated squad actively leaning into the chaos, it feels like a gimmick wearing thin after a few runs. You'll need friends willing to mic up and commit to the bit, because randoms won't carry the social load. The gunplay is serviceable but not tight enough to stand on its own as a shooter. Cross-platform play is solid, but the novelty of proximity chat doesn't extend a short game very far unless you're specifically after party game content with squad friends. Pick this up if you've got a reliable five-stack that loves deliberate silliness. Solo or with half-engaged teammates, it's a hard pass.
