About Marvel's Midnight Suns - Doctor Strange Defenders Skin (DLC)
Let's be clear about what this is: a costume DLC. No new missions, no additional cards, no dialogue, no story beats. You're getting one alternate skin for Doctor Strange that swaps his standard Midnight Suns look for the more street-level aesthetic he carried in the Defenders comics. If you love that grittier, less-cape-heavy design, this is exactly what it says on the tin. The base game it plugs into, Marvel's Midnight Suns, is worth talking about because context matters here. Firaxis built something genuinely interesting - a card-based tactical RPG where you manage a superhero abbey, build friendships with Marvel characters through daily hangouts, and then take those relationships into turn-based combat that rewards creative card combos over raw damage math. Doctor Strange himself is a high-skill, high-reward caster whose cards interact with positioning and enemy buffs in ways that feel satisfying once you understand the system. His Defenders skin changes none of that. Who actually wants this? Dedicated Midnight Suns players who have already sunk serious hours into the base game and care about visual consistency with a specific comics era. If you grew up reading Matt Fraction or Brian Michael Bendis runs and want Strange to look the part during your Abbey strolls, this scratches that itch. For everyone else, it registers somewhere between irrelevant and invisible. What it doesn't do is fix any of the base game's issues - the pacing in early hours, the repetitive Sanctum Sanctorum layout, the occasional sense that friendship missions are filler wrapped in Marvel branding. A skin coat won't patch those. The 82% positive Steam rating belongs to the full game experience, not to this add-on specifically, and reading those reviews as an endorsement of a cosmetic DLC would be a mistake. If you're hunting for something that deepens the Midnight Suns experience, the character-focused DLC packs adding Deadpool, Venom, Morbius, and Storm bring actual new cards, mechanics, and story content. This does not. Grab it if the Defenders look matters to you personally. Skip it otherwise without a second thought. Monika, Scout Team
