About Little Big Adventure - Enhanced Edition
The best thing here is Twinsun itself: a small planet with two suns, four species, and a police state run by Dr. Funfrock, sketched with more personality in a few screens than most modern open worlds manage in forty hours. You play Twinsen, a guy whose prophetic dreams get him institutionalized, and the escape sequence that opens the game still works because it forces you to think about behavior modes. Normal, athletic, aggressive, discreet. Sneaking past a guard, sprinting a gap, then swapping to aggressive to land a Magicball throw is a genuinely clever system, and the RPG progression (new Magicball abilities, gear like the Sendell's Medallion) rewards exploration rather than grinding. Where it disappoints is everything the Enhanced Edition did not touch. This is a straight port with tank-adjacent controls on a fixed isometric grid, instant-death falls, and combat that resolves as much by camera angle as by skill. Save constantly. Expect to replay sequences because you walked one tile wrong. If you want a preserved piece of adventure-game history with real narrative ambition, it holds up. If you want a modern quality-of-life pass, this is not it.
