About Iratus: Wrath of the Necromancer
Playing the villain usually means a reskin. Here it means you are the resource: Iratus rips body parts off corpses to stitch new minions, and every zombie, banshee or wraith is spare inventory you spend rather than a hero you protect. It is Darkest Dungeon flipped, stress and sanity bars included, except the pressure sits on the enemy side of the screen and your job is to break their minds before their swords land. The catch is the math. Roughly six hours pass before the damage-type layers, minion talents and party composition clicked for me, and the story is thin scaffolding around that systems work. Anyone who wants character arcs should look elsewhere. Anyone who enjoys tuning a roster of stitched-together undead until the numbers sing will get a lot from the run-based structure, and the turn-based tactics hold up well past the tutorial dungeons.
