For retro-shooter purists willing to tolerate unpolished systems; mainstream players should pass.

About Hedon - Extra Thicc Edition Upgrade
I dove into Hedon expecting a straightforward retro shooter-RPG hybrid, and what I found was ambitious but rough around the edges. The trading-card system adds a layer of deck-building strategy to combat encounters, which is a refreshing hook, but the implementation feels half-baked. Combat itself leans heavily on circle-strafing and manual aiming, which works fine until enemy AI patterns become predictable. The "Extra Thicc" HUD upgrade is a cosmetic flourish that doesn't solve the core issue: the game lacks the polish and pacing that would make its systems sing. There's character here, and the indie spirit is genuine, but Hedon feels like a promising prototype rather than a finished product. If you're the type who enjoys mining niche titles for hidden gems and has patience for jank, the card mechanics and retro aesthetic might click. For everyone else, it's a hard sell.
