GamerScout Verdict
Best for split-screen tournament nights; gravity-flipping tracks and weapon combat beat raw speed, but don't expect an online community.

About GRIP: Combat Racing
GRIP is pure arcade chaos: gravity-flipping tracks let you wall-ride and ceiling-surf while lobbing weapons at up to 10 players online or four on the couch. It's gloriously over-the-top, and the split-screen mode actually holds up well on gamepad, even if the physics feel deliberately loose. The 29 circuits offer wild variety, though the presentation and early-2010s graphics don't do it favors if you're coming from polished AAA racers. Where GRIP shines is as a drunk-friend racing game, low skill floor, high chaos ceiling, and enough weapon pickups to keep everyone laughing. Solo campaign is forgettable, but local multiplayer is the real draw. If you want gravity-bending speed without sim-racing pretension, this cult racer delivers. Fair warning: it's niche, and the online community is thin, so treat this as a couch co-op title first.
