My honest first reaction to Ghost Watchers was that someone had looked at Phasmophobia, admired it a lot, and then decided to make the hunting side more active. That instinct is mostly correct, and it mostly works. Where the Kinetic Games title leaves you reading a journal until something happens, Ghost Watchers pushes you to gather evidence, determine a ghost's age and mood, and then actively weaken and catch it rather than just document it and leave. That loop, when it clicks, gives a session more momentum than you might expect from an indie co-op horror at this budget tier. The investigation side is carried by a surprisingly deep toolbox. Players have access to over 60 pieces of equipment ranging from standard evidence collectors through to combat-adjacent gadgets that let you actually go on the offensive. There are 20 distinct ghost types in the roster, each with its own behaviors, weaknesses, and attack patterns, so repeat runs don't feel completely identical on the surface.
