FIVE: Guardians of David
A budget ARPG with five genuinely distinct heroes and a Canaan setting nobody else is using, dragged down by combat that stiffens up right when it should open up.
GamerScout Verdict
Worth it for the hero-swap system and unusual setting, not for anyone chasing Diablo-grade combat feel.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About FIVE: Guardians of David
The five-hero swap is the reason to play this. David, Asahel, Benaiah, Eleazar and Uriah aren't reskins with different hats. Each one has a separate skill tree and a real role, and hot-swapping mid-fight to line up a stun with a follow-up is the one moment where the whole thing clicks. The Old Testament Canaan setting helps too. Isometric loot grinds usually pull from the same tired fantasy shelf, so trudging through Philistine territory instead of another elf forest feels genuinely fresh, and the story-driven campaign takes its source material seriously rather than treating it as set dressing. The problem is the moment-to-moment feel. Attacks land with no weight, enemy packs shuffle in the same predictable clumps, and by the midpoint the loot drip stops justifying the repetition. Skill trees offer choices, but not enough of them change how a hero actually fights, so build variety flattens out well before the credits. It plays like a small team with good ideas and not quite the budget to execute them. Worth a look if the premise grabs you, frustrating if you want Diablo's feel.
