EVERSPACE 2 - Wrath of the Ancients
If you finished EVERSPACE 2 and immediately wanted more cockpit time in those handcrafted star systems, Wrath of the Ancients is exactly what the afterburner ordered, four new systems, a genuinely alien ship class, and a post-game story that actually pays off the lore.
GamerScout Verdict
A focused, lore-rich expansion built for committed EVERSPACE 2 pilots ready to take the Wraith into Okkar space and chase the Lunacy 4000 ceiling.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.

About EVERSPACE 2 - Wrath of the Ancients
I went back into EVERSPACE 2 the moment Wrath of the Ancients dropped, and the first thing that hit me was the aesthetic shift. The Okkar Homeworlds carry a completely different visual DNA from Colonial space, alien station architecture, new enemy swarm types, and a political powder keg that the base game only gestured at. That alone was enough to pull me through the opening hours. This is post-game content in the strict sense: you need to finish the main campaign before any of it unlocks, so do not skip the base game assuming you can dive straight into the DLC. Treat it as a second act, not a standalone. The headline addition is the Wraith, the first non-human ship playable in the series. It is a medium-class Okkar fighter built around a very specific mechanic: consuming fragments from defeated enemies to charge its Special and Ultimate abilities. That loop rewards aggressive, greedy play, you want to be in the thick of the scrap, harvesting kills rather than sitting at range. For pilots who already had a finely tuned long-range loadout in the base game, the Wraith demands a full rebuild of instincts, which is either the most exciting thing about it or the most annoying depending on your patience. The risk-reward tension is real and it lands far better than a simple stat-bump ship would have. The four new star systems, Aethon, Khaït Dominion, Rhak Homeworlds, and Ushak Sanctuary, each carry distinct visual identities and bring new puzzle types alongside the combat encounters. Rockfish's handcrafted world design has always been one of EVERSPACE 2's genuine strengths, and that standard holds here. Secrets are tucked into geometry the way they should be, rewarding pilots who actually slow down and scan corners rather than blazing through on the critical path. The story itself ventures into the Okkar's relationship with the Ancients and the fragile DMZ peace, it is more substantive than the filler arcs that occasionally padded the base game's mid-section, though it is not going to rewrite how you feel about the overall narrative. The writing is functional and world-consistent rather than deeply character-driven. A standout addition for endgame grinders is the Nightmare Ancient Rift difficulty, which scales up to Lunacy 4000 and unlocks only after clearing Lunacy 2000. If you are the kind of pilot who treats gear optimization as the real game, this is the ceiling you have been looking for. New legendary weapons, the Ascendancy gear set, and items like Faithstrike Missiles and the Entropy Anchor give the loot chase fresh legs. The expansion also marks the final piece of gameplay content Rockfish has planned for EVERSPACE 2, nearly eight years of work on this project in total, so there is a certain satisfying finality to it, even if it makes you wish for more. The honest caveat: this is clearly a DLC for the committed. Casual players who dipped into the base game for twenty hours and moved on will not get much mileage here. The systems assume you know the gear, the factions, and the moment-to-moment flight mechanics deeply. For those players, Wrath of the Ancients is a focused, well-crafted send-off to a series that earned its audience the hard way.
