An old-school CRPG where dehydration kills more adventurers than goblins do, and the only map you get is the one you draw yourself.

Torch fuel is the real antagonist here. Every step into a cave burns light you paid for, and if you run out three rooms deep with no lamp oil, you are feeling your way back in the dark while your thirst meter ticks down. That single upkeep loop reshapes everything: you plan routes, you ration, you leave loot behind because encumbrance slows you to a crawl, and you sketch your own maps because no quest marker is coming to save you. The classless skill system rewards that paranoia. Points go wherever you want, so a character built around Alchemy, Foraging and Cartography is genuinely viable next to a straight sword-swinger, and turn-based combat gives you the space to actually think through each swing. What it does not do is coddle you, and sometimes that shades into tedium rather than tension. Backtracking eats hours, the writing is functional rather than memorable (no dialogue you will be quoting later), and a bad early build can quietly sink a run before you notice. But if you want a CRPG that treats survival logistics as a puzzle instead of a HUD decoration, this one commits harder than most modern imitators. Monika, Scout Team

For CRPG players who want thirst, light and carry weight to matter; skip it if backtracking bores you.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.

Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.

We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.
