A farm-to-table adventure that hooks you with charm but overstays its welcome with repetitive ingredient grinding.

I went in expecting a cozy cooking sim and got a story-driven RPG that genuinely commits to its comedic premise. You play Zest, building a farm, crafting machines, and cooking dishes to win over an eccentric cast of characters in the land of Ambrosia. The writing has personality, and early progression feels rewarding as you unlock new recipes and farm mechanics. The problem: after hour ten, ingredient collection becomes a slog. You'll spend more time waiting for crops to mature and gathering the same tomatoes than actually cooking or advancing the narrative. Combat exists but feels grafted on, and the pacing doesn't justify the grind. Epic Chef works if you're comfortable with slow burns and don't mind the busywork between story beats. It's not a traditional RPG despite the tag, and it's not a relaxing farm sim either. It's a middle ground that occasionally nails charm but more often asks you to repeat fetch tasks. Skip if you hate filler; consider it if you're genuinely into narrative-focused indies and don't mind padding. Monika, Scout Team

GamerScout Verdict

Charming indie RPG that stumbles when charm can't carry the repetitive grind past hour ten.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.

Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.

We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.
