Legendary Pack Set adds a stack of DLC fighters and content to Xenoverse 2's already crowded roster. Worth it if you're already deep in the time patrol grind.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is a third-person arena brawler built around creating a custom character, slotting into iconic Dragon Ball storylines, and then spending an embarrassing number of hours farming skills and gear in the Conton City hub. The Legendary Pack Set is a DLC bundle that expands the already substantial roster with additional fighters, moves, and story missions tied to some of the franchise's bigger moments. If you bounced off the base game, this bundle does nothing to change your mind. If you're already in, it's more of the thing you like. The core loop is basically a looter-shooter in fighting-game clothing. You pick a race and class, build your character around a handful of Super and Ultimate skill slots, and farm missions to unlock better moves. The combat has a reasonable amount of aerial mobility and combo expression, but it's nowhere near as technical as something like Dragon Ball FighterZ. What it trades in depth it makes up for with sheer volume of content and the co-op structure of Expert Missions, which actually benefit from a coordinated team and give you a reason to play alongside real people rather than just watching CPU partners get deleted. The Legendary Pack content specifically drops in characters that long-time fans will recognise immediately, and the added story scenarios are a cut above the base filler missions in terms of presentation. That said, if you're not already fluent in Dragon Ball lore, the narrative framing will mean very little to you. The game assumes you care deeply about who is showing up and why. The missions themselves are functional rather than inventive, mostly remixing the same arena formats the base game uses throughout. On the technical side, Xenoverse 2 has had a long lifespan and multiple updates across console generations. The Xbox Series X version runs smoothly, load times are not the problem they once were, and the online infrastructure holds up well enough for Parallel Quests and PvP, though ranked matchmaking can feel inconsistent depending on time of day. Input lag and frame consistency are acceptable, nothing that would make a competitive player flinch, but this isn't a game you'd run at a tournament either. It occupies its own middle tier between serious fighting games and casual beat-em-ups and seems entirely comfortable there. The Legendary Pack Set makes sense only as an extension purchase for committed players. If you've cleared the main story, maxed a character, and still want more opponents to run Expert Missions with, this delivers that. If you're considering Xenoverse 2 fresh and wondering whether to buy the base game plus this bundle up front, the base game alone will keep you occupied for a long time before any DLC becomes necessary. GamerScout Verdict

Solid DLC for committed Xenoverse 2 grinders, but skippable if you haven't finished what the base game already offers.
