Casual board game that works best with friends willing to embrace controlled chaos over min-maxing.

About DOG® – The dog takes the hindmost
I don't play a lot of board games, but DOG grabbed me because it solves the problem with Ludo: pure RNG makes you watch other people have fun while you're stuck. Here, cards replace dice, and you're forced to work as a team to get all four pieces home. The card mechanic means you've got actual decisions to make instead of just moving whatever the die gives you. It's still a race game at heart, so don't expect deep strategy, but the team twist keeps things tighter than the original. Local multiplayer only, which is fine for what it is. The game moves fast and plays with 2-4 people. It's casual enough that non-gamers won't bounce off the controls, but the card system keeps it from feeling braindead. If you're looking for something to pull out at a table with friends and you don't mind a game that's 70% luck, 30% call, DOG does the job.
