Ancient Dungeon
Possibly the best argument for owning a VR headset: a roguelite dungeon crawler where physics-based sword swings and over 100 upgrades combine into runs that rarely feel the same twice.
GamerScout Verdict
Best for VR owners who want a co-op roguelite with real physical weight behind every sword swing, and patience for an Early Access content roadmap.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.

About Ancient Dungeon
I have a weakness for games that make physical movement feel like a mechanic rather than a gimmick, and Ancient Dungeon lands squarely in that camp. Built by a solo developer and still in Early Access, it pits you against procedurally generated floors packed with wights, slimes, skeletons, flying skulls, and champion variants that scale nastiness the deeper you go. The moment you swing a real sword in VR and watch a vine snap off the ceiling, you understand what the fuss is about. This is not a flatscreen roguelite ported to VR as an afterthought; the physics engine is the whole point. The progression loop works on two layers. Per-run, you pick up loot from pedestals and make binary upgrade choices that quietly snowball. Maybe you grab exploding throwing knives early and suddenly your entire run orbits around positioning for chain detonations. Maybe you stack companion wisps and turn yourself into a slow, tanky loot vacuum. The permanent layer underneath rewards each death with currency you spend at the home base to unlock secret paths, cheaper shops, and blacksmith services including weapon augmentation slots that let you further tune your loadout. Neither layer overstays its welcome, and the loop stays tight enough that a failed run rarely feels like wasted time. Weapon variety is the honest weak point right now. At launch the game shipped two loadouts: sword with throwing dagger, and short sword with crossbow. Both are well-tuned and play differently enough that the community argues about them in earnest, but after many runs the ceiling on build expression gets visible. The good news is that Update 6 introduced a Mage class centered on a wand and tome combo with five distinct attacks including long-range blasts and short-range AOE, and the developer has signaled more weapon sets are planned before 1.0. This is an Early Access title with an actively maintained roadmap, not an abandoned project. Multiplayer supports up to four players with cross-play, and it genuinely changes the game's texture. Having a friend revive you while you attempt to pocket the loot is a different kind of chaos than solo runs, and the shared tension of pressing deeper together is where Ancient Dungeon earns comparisons to the better co-op roguelites. VR newcomers should know upfront that smooth locomotion is the default and the game moves fast. Teleportation exists as an option but is still catching up in polish. If you do not have your VR legs yet, the early sessions will test you. For an RPG specialist who usually demands narrative payoff and meaningful choices, I will admit the story here is thin. There is environmental lore scattered across journal pages and dungeon secrets, and the worldbuilding does just enough to give the dungeon a sense of history rather than pure abstraction. But you are not here for dialogue trees. You are here to hurl a throwing knife across a torchlit corridor, watch it ricochet off a skeleton, and then immediately take an arrow to the face because you were too busy appreciating the physics. That trade-off is entirely fair.
