I picked up Against All Odds expecting a straightforward racing game, and instead found myself platforming through blood-soaked arenas while dodging saws and spikes. It's a weird hybrid that leans hard into the "casual" label - this isn't a sim, it's arcade chaos with a dark comedy edge. Single-player focus, chunky controls that feel deliberate rather than polished, and a premise built around survival rather than lap times. The gimmick works for what it is: short bursts of high-stakes platforming races where one mistake means respawning. No multiplayer, no wheel support needed (gamepad is fine), and it won't tax your rig. Best suited for players who want something different from the usual racing fare - something scrappy, intentionally silly, and willing to laugh at itself.
