About Across The Obelisk: The Wolf Wars
I went into The Wolf Wars hoping for a character-driven prequel that would deepen Across The Obelisk's world. Instead, this story pack feels like it's spinning its wheels. You play as Magnus and Yogger, two wolves caught in a conflict set a decade before the base game, but the narrative doesn't land with much weight. The stripped-down approach abandons most of the strategic deck-building that made the original work, replacing it with more straightforward combat that feels like filler between story beats. The new hero unlock and cosmetics are nice window dressing, but they don't salvage the core problem: this pack lacks the narrative payoff or mechanical variety needed to justify the time investment. If you loved the original's build crafting and party synergies, you'll miss that depth here. It's not broken, but it's not essential either. The mixed review score reflects what many players found: a side story that doesn't quite earn its place in the world.
