The Fire Giant is a mandatory Legend boss and the last survivor of the war against the giants. He guards the flame you need to reach the Forge of the Giants, so you cannot skip him to continue the main story. Defeating him unlocks the Forge, lets you burn the Erdtree's thorns, and teleports you onward to Crumbling Farum Azula.

Expect a long fight. He has a massive health pool and only a handful of usable weaknesses, which is exactly why so many players get stuck here.

How to beat the Fire Giant

Buff before the fog wall. Boost your fire damage negation (an incantation that raises fire defense, or fireproof consumables), then summon a Spirit Ash to pull aggro. A Mimic Tear copies your build, and a tanky teleporting summon also works well to keep his attention off you.
