Yomawari: Midnight Shadows Digital Limited Edition

I went in expecting jump-scares and combat, but Yomawari is quieter than that. You're controlling two young girls separately, moving cautiously through darkened streets and solving environmental puzzles while avoiding or outsmarting creatures. The pacing is deliberate, think walking-simulator tension rather than action-game reflexes. Atmosphere carries the weight here; the pixel art and ambient sound design sell the dread better than gore ever could. The trade-off is that "strategy" in the genre tags is overstated. This is narrative adventure with light puzzle-solving, not tactical gameplay. If you're hunting for mechanical depth or replayability systems, look elsewhere. But if you want a genuinely unsettling evening that respects player patience over jump-scares, the journey justifies the modest runtime.
