Yomawari: Lost in the Dark Deluxe Edition

I went in expecting a strategy game and got a slow-burn horror experience instead. Yomawari trades action for atmosphere: you're a kid stumbling through eerie neighborhoods at night, ducking into bushes and hiding when grotesque spirits hunt you. The sound design is the real draw here, every footstep, every whispered ghost voice, builds genuine dread. Movement is methodical, almost meditative, which makes encounters feel genuinely tense. Here's the catch: there's almost no interaction beyond moving and hiding. No combat, minimal puzzles, no build variety or strategic layering. If you want mechanical depth or control over outcomes, look elsewhere. But if you're after a short (3-5 hour) horror experience that respects pacing over action, and you can tolerate a slightly sparse narrative, the Deluxe Edition delivers exactly that. Steam's 87% positive rating tells you the core audience found what they came for.
