About Townsmen VR
I went in expecting a grand-strategy sim adapted for headsets. Instead, Townsmen VR is a lighter god-game where you zone buildings, manage resources, and watch your settlement grow. The VR hook is real: you're literally pointing and grabbing objects in 3D space rather than clicking a flat menu. It's tactile and charming for a few hours, and the tutorial eases newcomers into the loop without overwhelming them. The trade-off is thin mechanics. Build variety is modest, AI decisions feel scripted, and the late-game lacks the emergent chaos that keeps strategy players hooked for hundreds of hours. This isn't Tropico or Cities: Skylines. If you want meditative city-building with VR's physicality premium over strategic depth, it's worth a session or two. Anyone expecting Paradox-style systems will bounce off fast.
