TY the Tasmanian Tiger HD

I went in expecting a straightforward mascot platformer, and that's mostly what I got. TY controls smoothly enough, and the boomerang mechanics give you some puzzle-solving options beyond the standard jump-and-stomp formula. Levels have that classic collect-a-thon structure: grab talismans, free caged animals, hunt for secrets. If you grew up on Crash Bandicoot or Spyro, the bones feel familiar. The HD remaster cleans up the visuals from the original, but don't expect modern design sensibilities. Cameras can be wonky, level variety is thin, and the story is background noise. It's a competent platformer that knows exactly what it is and doesn't oversell itself. You'll get a solid 8-10 hours if you're thorough, but this isn't trying to be anything revolutionary. For nostalgic completionists or kids who want a gentler 3D platformer than contemporary options, it's worth a look.
