I went in expecting a niche cycling sim, and Tour de France 2018 delivers exactly that: you pick a real rider and compete through stages of the legendary race, managing stamina, positioning, and when to attack or follow wheels. The official 2018 route and roster are here, which matters if you're into the sport. The core loop works - timing your breakaways and managing team tactics has some tactical teeth. Problem is, everything else feels thin. Graphics are dated even for an Xbox release, the UI is clunky, and single-player career mode lacks the progression hooks that make racing sims stick around. This is purely for Tour devotees who want to race as their heroes, not newcomers looking to learn why cycling is interesting.
