The Council Complete Season

I went in expecting a traditional adventure game and found something closer to a detective visual novel with mechanical teeth. The Council is built around interrogation scenes where your character's knowledge, intuition, and social manipulation determine outcomes. You're investigating a mysterious gathering of historical and fictional power players, and every conversation branch can lock you out of information permanently. The writing leans hard into historical flavor and conspiracy intrigue, which works when the writing lands but feels overwrought when it doesn't. It's not a game that respects your time if you're hunting for 'correct' answers. Trial-and-error playthroughs happen, and some puzzles feel divorced from logic rather than lateral thinking. That said, if you're the type who replays dialogue trees and obsesses over conspiracy threads, there's enough branching narrative here to justify a second playthrough. Not for everyone, but dialogue junkies will find something to chew on.
