Saints Row IV - Presidential Pack (DLC)

Saints Row IV is already one of the more gleefully unhinged open-world action games out there - you play as the President of the United States, gain superhuman abilities inside an alien simulation, and shoot people with weapons that defy physics and common sense. The Presidential Pack is a small DLC drop that adds cosmetic and gear content themed around the commander-in-chief fantasy the base game is already leaning into hard. If you bought the game to sprint at super-speed through a virtual Steelport while wearing something absurd, this is exactly the kind of extra content the developers were making for you. The DLC sits in that category of add-on that doesn't change the gameplay loop at all. No new missions, no new superpowers, no story beats. What you get is a handful of new outfits and items that slot into the already enormous customization system. Given that Saints Row IV's character creator and wardrobe are a big part of the appeal for a certain kind of player, that's not nothing - but it's also not something that will move the needle for anyone who picks up DLC expecting new ground to cover. Where the base game earns its 86 on Metacritic is in how completely it commits to the bit. The open world is a playground designed around your superpowers - the gunplay and driving matter less once you're gliding across rooftops at speed, which is intentional. The alien invasion framing gives the writers license to go completely off-script, and they use it. Co-op works well and makes the chaos more manageable and more social at the same time. The Presidential Pack doesn't touch any of that, but if you're already in the ecosystem, a few extra themed cosmetics are a painless addition. Who should skip it: anyone who hasn't bought the base game yet, anyone who finished Saints Row IV and felt satisfied, and anyone who values gameplay content over cosmetic variety. Who might enjoy it: completionists, players who spend meaningful time in the character creator, and people running co-op sessions who want their President avatar to look the part. The Presidential Pack is minor by design. It exists to extend the joke, not expand the game. Saints Row IV itself is worth your time if you want an open-world sandbox that treats its own premise as a punchline and runs with it. This DLC is just a hat on top of that.
