Prey Digital Deluxe Edition
One of the sharpest immersive sims in years sits quietly on your hard drive waiting to ruin your weekend. If you've ever wished Bioshock had more wrench and fewer scripted moments, start here.
Veredicto de GamerScout
Best for immersive sim fans who want a space station that rewards every detour and forgives almost no impatience.

I put close to fifty hours into Prey before I felt like I fully understood what it was doing, and even then the station kept surprising me. Talos I is the real protagonist here: a retrofuturistic art-deco space station built with the internal logic of an actual place, not a theme-park corridor shooter. Every wing connects, every vent and airlock has a purpose, and the environmental storytelling layered into employee emails, scattered audio logs, and the physical wreckage of interrupted lives is some of the densest world-building Arkane has ever produced. Mechanically, Prey sits firmly in the immersive sim tradition of System Shock and Deus Ex. You play as Morgan Yu, a scientist whose gender you choose at the start, and you accumulate Neuromods to spend on three skill trees: human abilities covering hacking, stealth, and engineering; and Typhon powers harvested from the aliens you study and fight. The Typhon powers are where things get interesting. Mimicry lets you transform into small objects to slip past locked doors or through tiny gaps. Kinetic Blast and Psychoshock open up combat approaches that a wrench-and-shotgun run completely bypasses. The GLOO Cannon, which fires quick-hardening foam to immobilise enemies or create improvised climbing holds on flat walls, might be the most quietly brilliant tool in the game. The crafting and recycling system ties it all together: almost every scrap of junk on the station can be broken down and turned into ammo, medkits, or Neuromods at the right fabricator. That said, Prey earns its mixed marks in a few places. The early hours are genuinely rough if you arrive expecting a shooter. Resources are scarce, the Mimics that disguise themselves as everyday objects will make you paranoid about every coffee cup in the room, and the Typhon enemy variety stays thin for longer than it should. Combat never reaches the kinetic satisfaction of a dedicated action game, and some players will bounce off the slow build before the systems start clicking. The loading screens between station sections, handled via airlock transitions, chip at immersion in a way that patches never fully fixed. Pacing in the main story arc also wobbles in the back half. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the Mooncrash expansion, which adds a procedurally generated roguelike layer with its own map, characters, and escalating threat modifiers. It is a genuinely different game mode that extends playtime significantly and addresses the one thing the base game lacks most: replayability driven by unpredictability. If you are going to play Prey at all, this edition is the version worth having. Who is this for? Anyone who reads item descriptions, who finished Bioshock Infinite wishing the sandbox were wider, or who once spent three hours in Dishonored figuring out a route nobody intended. Action tourists looking for a cover shooter should look elsewhere. But if you want a space station that rewards curiosity and punishes nothing except impatience, Prey holds up remarkably well.
