Arkane's sharpest level design meets its most focused story: a lean, atmospheric closer to the Dishonored saga that rewards both ghost runners and chaos merchants equally.

I've spent enough time sneaking through Karnaca to know that Dishonored: Death of the Outsider is doing one thing exceptionally well: it strips the formula back to its bones and finds out how much flavor those bones actually carry. This is a standalone chapter, not a full sequel, and Arkane leans into that constraint rather than apologizing for it. You play as Billie Lurk, voiced with real grit by Rosario Dawson, reuniting with her aged mentor Daud on a mission to assassinate the Outsider himself, the supernatural entity who has loomed over the entire series. It's a premise that sounds audacious and, for the most part, it earns that ambition. Billie's power set is the most interesting rethink Arkane has attempted since the original Blink. Because she carries no Mark of the Outsider, her abilities come from Void artifacts: a replaced arm and eye that draw energy directly from the Void, meaning her power meter recharges on its own without potions. That one change alone makes experimentation feel lower-stakes and more fun. Displace lets you plant an invisible marker anywhere in the environment and swap back to it at will, which turns every guarded room into a puzzle about positioning. Semblance lets you knock out a guard and wear their face temporarily as a walking disguise. Foresight freezes time and sends your perspective floating through the level to tag enemies and plan routes before committing. Rounded out by a wrist-mounted Voltaic Gun, Hook Mines, and Hyperbaric Grenades for non-lethal crowd control, the toolkit encourages creative, go-your-own-way approaches in a way the series has always promised but rarely made this accessible. The removal of the Chaos System from previous games means you are no longer punished for mixing lethal and stealthy approaches, which opens up a more honest sandbox. The five missions are short but genuinely well-constructed. A bank heist level in particular stands out as one of the best single missions Arkane has built across the whole series: a meticulously layered space with multiple viable entry points and optional Contracts available at the black market that give you reasons to poke into every corner. The city feels lived-in and reactive. Bone Charms scattered throughout can modify ability behavior in ways that meaningfully change your preferred style. A New Game Plus mode unlocks after completion and lets you layer Billie's toolkit with abilities from Corvo and Emily in Dishonored 2, which gives the short campaign genuine replay value. That said, Death of the Outsider has real limits worth naming. The story starts strong and fades. The final missions lose momentum, and the ending, while thematically resonant, lands with a whimper rather than a punch regardless of which choice you make. There is no upgrade tree for Billie's active powers, which will frustrate players who enjoyed the progression loops of the previous games. The overall runtime sits around six to ten hours depending on how thoroughly you explore, which makes this feel definitively like an epilogue rather than a full meal. Players coming in cold without Dishonored 2 context will find the narrative beats harder to care about, though the gameplay stands on its own. For stealth-action fans who have followed the series, this is a satisfying and mechanically refined send-off. For newcomers curious about the Dishonored formula, the shorter scope and more forgiving systems actually make it a reasonable entry point, as long as you accept the story won't hit as hard without the prior lore. Arkane's world-building and level craft are as strong here as they have ever been, even if the narrative ambition slightly outruns the execution at the finish line. Alex, Scout Team

Veredicto de GamerScout

Best for Dishonored fans wanting a tight, mechanically sharp epilogue; newcomers get a solid intro but will miss half the story weight.
