Metroid Prime Remastered

I went in expecting a faithful remaster and got something closer to a full rebuild. Metroid Prime Remastered runs at 60fps on Switch with overhauled visuals that hold up alongside modern shooters, and the lock-on-and-strafe combat system still feels unique compared to standard FPS fare. Scanning the environment to uncover lore remains satisfying, and exploration rewards curiosity without hand-holding. The remaster doesn't fix what made the original divisive: gyro aiming is optional but clunky without it, and the pacing assumes you'll backtrack through solved puzzles when you've missed a secret. If you played the original and loved it, this is the version to own. If you bounced off it then, the remaster won't change your mind. It's a faithful update, not a reinvention.
