Jurassic World Evolution: Secrets of Dr Wu

I approached Secrets of Dr. Wu expecting a campaign replacement, but what you get is narrower: a series of standalone missions centered on creating hybrid species through genetics. If you want the open-ended park management loop, this isn't it. The expansion strips away career progression and instead tasks you with breeding specific dinosaur combinations to unlock new hybrids like the Indominus Rex variants. The mission structure is tighter than the base game's campaign, which cuts both ways. You get focused objectives and faster feedback loops, but lose the long-term park planning that made the original compelling. The hybrid breeding mechanic itself is straightforward multiplication - feed creatures specific traits, wait for incubation timers, move on. It's satisfying in small doses, not strategy-deep. Where this lands depends on your patience for DLC structure. Completionists will chew through the missions in 10-15 hours. If you own the base game and enjoy scenario-driven play over freeform tycoon loops, it's worth the space. The dinosaur roster is genuinely expanded and the UI doesn't waste your time. Just know you're buying mission packs, not a campaign overhaul.
