GamerScout Verdict
Inventive movement systems can't overcome floaty controls and visibility issues. For platformer completionists only.

About Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back
I went in expecting pure nostalgia bait, and Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back is exactly that, for better and worse. The movement suite is genuinely inventive - gliding, bouncing, and that rabbit-fast sprint create a rhythm that feels distinct from typical platformers. Levels are colorful and packed with collectibles, and there's real effort to modernize a character most of us forgot existed. The problem is execution. Input lag and floaty controls undermine what should be a tight, snappy experience. The camera pulls back too far, enemies blend into the scenery, and cheap hits pile up faster than the game's self-aware dialogue can distract you from them. It's playable and occasionally fun, but rarely feels polished enough to justify the frustration. Decent for platformer completionists with patience; everyone else should try it on a heavy discount first.
