NARUTO X BORUTO Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections - Season Pass
Five DLC packs bundled into one pass for a base game that already divides the fanbase - worthwhile only if you're already invested in the roster and want every Otsutsuki variant imaginable.

Acerca de NARUTO X BORUTO Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections - Season Pass
I've spent enough time with Connections and its DLC rollout to say this plainly: the Season Pass is a narrow recommendation, and who it's for matters more than almost anything else here. The base game is a 3D arena fighter built on CyberConnect2's familiar Storm engine, running two story modes - a condensed History Mode that walks through Naruto's arc from the Chunin Exams to the Fourth Great Ninja War, and a Special Story centered on Boruto, a mysterious virtual-game world called Ninja Heroes, and original characters Nanashi and Merz. The Season Pass sits on top of all that, covering five separate DLC packs and a bonus character. What those five packs actually deliver is a drip of additional fighters. The first added Hagoromo Otsutsuki, the Sage of Six Paths. Subsequent packs brought in Isshiki Otsutsuki, Kurenai Yuhi, and eventually Boruto Uzumaki in a Karma Progression form, among others. Each pack also tends to include new costumes, voice lines, Ninja Info Card images, and at least one new Combination Secret Technique - the flashy team-up jutsu attacks the series is known for. DLC Pack 5, for example, adds a technique called Apocalypse, which requires Sasuke, Madara, and Indra on the same team to activate. That kind of multi-character unlock is genuinely satisfying for roster-obsessed players who love building specific teams. The honest friction here is that the base game itself landed with mixed Steam reviews, and the Season Pass inherits all of those structural problems. Longtime STORM fans flagged that History Mode strips out field maps, action stages, and plenty of smaller fights from the original numbered entries, leaving an abridged version that can feel thin to anyone who played Storm 2, 3, or 4. The online side at launch was limited in features - no direct friend battles initially, though custom matchmaking was patched in. The combat mechanics got tweaked too, with changes to tilt attacks, guard behavior, and hitstun timing that divided veterans while the new Simple Control Mode made the whole thing more approachable for newcomers. None of that changes with the Season Pass - you get additional characters and cosmetics, not fixes to the design decisions people complained about. For a franchise newcomer or a casual Naruto fan who just wants a big roster and couch co-op tournament mode, the base game plus Season Pass is actually a reasonable complete package. The character variety in Free Battle modes - VS, Survival, Tournament with up to 8 players, and League - stays fresh longer when you have DLC fighters rotating in. For a returning Storm player comparing this to picking up the older numbered entries, the pass alone does not bridge that gap. Buy it if you are already in and want every Otsutsuki and Karma-form variant on your roster. Skip it if you are still deciding whether this entry is worth your time at all.
