A five-to-six hour visual novel RPG hybrid that genuinely earns its license - if you have any interest in Atom Eve's story, this is the most time you will spend with her outside of the comics.

My first hour with Atom Eve felt like a pleasant surprise dressed up as a superhero game. What Terrible Posture Games built here is primarily a visual novel, and if that label makes you nervous, know that the turn-based combat woven between dialogue scenes does real work - it is not just set dressing. The structure splits into ten episodes, each running around twenty to thirty minutes, and each one follows a rhythm of map exploration, dialogue choices, and combat encounters against foes ranging from the bumbling Killcannon to the more threatening Universa, an alien whose motives you will actually have to weigh. The skill tree is where the game earns its RPG label. Three paths - Empath, Creator, and Firebrand - shape both combat options and dialogue unlocks. Empath leans defensive and opens empathetic conversation branches. Creator invents solutions to problems. Firebrand is your hot-headed, strength-forward route. None of them are deep enough to satisfy a hardcore tactics player, but the spread is substantial enough that two playthroughs feel meaningfully different, especially once you realize that certain skill investments unlock dialogue options that are completely invisible on a first run. Combat itself runs on an energy economy: Eve regenerates energy each turn and spends it on abilities like shields, energy blasts, and debuff tools like Stunflower and Glue. Saving energy across turns for big abilities adds a small layer of planning. The ceiling is low, but the floor is solid. Where the game is less convincing is in the weight of its choices. The branching narrative is real, but most decisions ripple out as dialogue texture rather than story direction. A handful of late-game scenes land awkwardly if your choices have pushed Eve far from the canonical version of her relationships - the Rex Splode situation in particular can feel tonally off depending on how aggressively you have distanced Eve from him. Critics were split on this: some found the story compelling regardless; others felt the illusion of agency collapsed in the back half. Both camps are right, in different ways. The narrative does genuinely work as a standalone piece - Eve's strained relationship with her adoptive parents, her bond with Mark Grayson, her uncertainty about college and identity - all of it lands with more emotional specificity than most licensed games manage. The comic-book art style is vivid and expressive, and the soundtrack from Milk and Bone (a Canadian electro-pop duo) gives the whole thing an unusually distinct sonic identity for a game of this price tier. For newcomers to the Invincible universe, access is easier than you might expect - reviewers without prior series knowledge reported getting invested quickly, though some background context around Eve's origin does get assumed. For existing fans, the appeal is obvious: familiar events refracted through Eve's perspective, with a few genuine surprises. The game runs clean on PC, reportedly without performance issues, and sits comfortably in the five-to-six hour range for a single playthrough. It is not a game that reinvents anything. It does one thing - telling Eve's story with care and some smart structural choices - and it does that one thing well enough to be worth the time. Alex, Scout Team

Veredicto de GamerScout

Worth a single playthrough for visual novel fans and Invincible followers; the skill tree adds texture, but don't expect choices that dramatically reshape the ending.
