Seven games, decades of irradiated open-world RPG, and a mini nuke that actually makes noise - this is the most complete Fallout collection Bethesda has put together for PC.

I have a hard time thinking of another PC collection that covers this much ground across a single franchise. The S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Anthology drops seven Fallout titles into one physical box: the original Fallout and Fallout 2 (isometric, turn-based, deeply weird in the best way), the squad tactics spin-off Fallout Tactics, then the open-world 3D era with Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition, Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition, Fallout 4 Game of the Year Edition, and the online survival entry Fallout 76. Every piece of DLC travels with its parent game. Fallout 3 brings along Operation: Anchorage, The Pitt, Broken Steel, Point Lookout, and Mothership Zeta. New Vegas ships with Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, Lonesome Road, Courier's Stash, and Gun Runners' Arsenal. That is a genuinely staggering amount of content for one purchase. The range here is almost absurd. The first two games are top-down CRPGs built around SPECIAL stats - Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, Luck - that shape every dialogue option and combat outcome. They are slow, text-heavy, and totally unforgiving to players who skip the manual. Fallout 3 pivots to first-person action-RPG in a ruined Washington D.C., trading some of that systemic depth for exploration atmosphere. New Vegas, developed by Obsidian, is widely regarded as the writing and faction-design high point of the 3D era, with its Mojave Wasteland factions and four distinct ending paths. Fallout 4 leans hardest into the shooter feel and base-building with its Settlement system, pulling back on dialogue complexity. Fallout 76 is the online outlier - launched rough, substantially improved since through updates like Wastelanders and Steel Reign, now a serviceable survival-RPG if you go in knowing it is a live-service game, not a traditional single-player story. The honest caveat here is that this is a codes-in-box product. There are no physical discs. Each of the seven SPECIAL attribute cards (Strength through Luck, styled after Fallout 76 perk cards) carries a download code on the back. The mini nuke case is a nice collectible - it makes audible bomb sounds - but buyers who want discs on a shelf will not find them here. For a digital-first PC gamer the distinction barely matters; for a collector, it is worth knowing upfront. It is also worth flagging that Fallout 3 requires some compatibility work on modern Windows and that the older isometric titles are showing their age in the UI department, though all remain very playable. The audience for this is threefold: series newcomers who want the full arc from 1997 to present without hunting down individual keys, lapsed fans returning after watching the Amazon TV series adaptation, and collectors who want a shelf piece that reflects the franchise's full run. Anyone hoping for a remastered or patched-up legacy edition will be disappointed - these are the existing PC versions as-is. But as a way to own the complete Fallout lineage in one go, it covers more ground than any previous collection Bethesda has released. Alex, Scout Team

Best for series newcomers or returning fans who want the full Fallout lineage in one shot, provided they are comfortable with download codes over discs.
