One of Dead by Daylight's most fan-requested killers finally arrived, and the ankle-height stealth playstyle genuinely feels unlike anything else in the roster. Worth it for Killer mains who want depth, not just a license.

My first session with Chucky lasted longer than I planned, and that tells you something. Behaviour had a legitimately hard design problem to solve here: how do you build a functional killer out of a doll that barely clears knee height? The answer turned out to be clever enough to make this one of the more interesting Killer additions Dead by Daylight has seen in years. The whole kit revolves around Hidey-Ho Mode. Activate it and Chucky becomes Undetectable, stops broadcasting his terror radius, and starts generating Illusionary Footfalls that scatter fake footstep sounds near survivors across the map. That audio misdirection is genuinely disorienting on the receiving end. While hidden, he can charge Slice and Dice, a sprinting lunge attack that closes ground fast, or use Scamper to vault through windows or under dropped pallets mid-chase without breaking stride. On paper that sounds like a straightforward stealth combo. In practice, timing Hidey-Ho correctly, placing your Slice and Dice lunge at the right angle, and chaining a Scamper through a pallet loop before survivors can react takes real repetitions to master. Behaviour rated him "Moderate" difficulty, which feels accurate. He rewards practice without demanding it upfront. The third-person camera is the mechanical wrinkle that separates him from every other killer in the game. Because Chucky sits so low, a first-person perspective would render the map unplayable, so Behaviour built him a fixed third-person view. Notably, it reads close to standard after a few matches, the camera tracks with him naturally enough that it stops feeling like a novelty. What persists is the real asymmetry it creates: survivors struggle to spot him behind even short cover, while you have a wider read on the environment than usual. That visibility trade-off is where the stealth kit clicks together. His three unique perks, Hex: Two Can Play, Friends 'til the End, and Batteries Included, are all serviceable and synergize well in perk builds rather than carrying games on their own. Hex: Two Can Play, which retaliates with a blind whenever a survivor stuns or blinds you, is the most interesting of the three for anti-loop builds. Batteries Included, which briefly boosts movement speed near a completed generator, got nerfed before wide release because it was too strong at end-game, and the current version is more measured. The add-on pool draws from across the Child's Play films, including references to Curse of Chucky and Bride of Chucky, which is solid fan service that also provides meaningful mechanical variation. One note of caution: this chapter did not include a new Survivor, and no new map Realm shipped with it either. If you judge DLC chapters partly by what survivors get, this one runs thin on that side. The presentation earns its license fee. Brad Dourif recorded new lines specifically for the game, and the Tiffany Valentine legendary outfit comes with Jennifer Tilly voicing her. Those are not cheap touches. The character looks right, sounds right, and plays distinctly from anything adjacent to him in the roster. For Killer-focused players interested in a stealth-heavy, skill-rewarding addition to their rotation, this chapter holds up well past the novelty phase. Alex, Scout Team
