A skill-based FPS remaster that rewards creative kills over raw aim, now bundled with a full Duke Nukem campaign playthrough voiced by Jon St. John.

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is a remaster of People Can Fly's 2011 shooter, a game that was widely overlooked on its original release but has since built a genuine cult following. The core pitch is simple but clever: you play through a linear, corridor-driven campaign on the wrecked resort planet Stygia, and instead of just shooting everyone to death, the game rewards you for killing enemies in increasingly inventive ways. That reward engine is the Skillshot system, which hands out points for things like kicking a mutant into a cactus, dragging one into a fountain full of flesh-eating fish, or shooting an enemy in a very specific place and watching them ignite. Points unlock new weapons, ammo, and upgrades, which opens up more Skillshot possibilities. It turns what looks like a dumb linear shooter into something closer to a score-attack puzzle game. The Full Clip Edition brings the original campaign up to 4K resolution with improved textures, a higher polygon count, and a locked 60fps target on PC. Everything that was released as DLC for the original is bundled in: extra Echoes maps, the co-op wave mode Anarchy (which forces your squad to hit a score threshold each round, making it more engaging than a basic horde mode), and the new Overkill Mode that starts you with every weapon and Skillshot already unlocked. This Duke Nukem Bundle specifically also includes the Duke Nukem's Bulletstorm Tour DLC, which lets you play the full campaign as Duke himself, complete with an entirely re-recorded script by original voice actor Jon St. John. Duke is aware he's in someone else's game, and his lines are written specifically for each scene. The result is divisive: fans of both characters find it a fun novelty, while some reviewers feel Duke's flat persona undercuts the oddly earnest tone of Grayson Hunt's story. The weaknesses are real and worth knowing going in. The campaign runs about eight hours, and the story resolves on a cliffhanger that a sequel will never resolve. Quick-time events appear constantly throughout, which feels noticeably dated by current standards. The weapon wheel can be slow to register inputs, and the crouch is a hold rather than a toggle, both of which take adjustment. The level and art design are fairly linear and can feel repetitive across the back half. AI companions do occasionally behave oddly. None of this collapses the experience, but if you pick this up expecting a modern movement-shooter, you will be disappointed. This is a mid-generation 2011 game given a coat of paint, not a ground-up rebuild. What Bulletstorm does exceptionally well, it still does better than most games in the genre. The Skillshot system is genuinely inventive, the pacing of the campaign is brisk, and the chaos the game lets you generate in unscripted combat moments is hard to find elsewhere. The Echoes mode strips out the story entirely and lets you chase leaderboard scores using the combat system in isolation, which has real replay value for players who want to dig into the mechanics. If you enjoy DOOM or Titanfall 2 style high-velocity FPS games and have not played Bulletstorm before, this bundle is the fullest version of it you can get. Alex, Scout Team
