About Risk The Game of Global Domination
I've always thought Risk worked best around a kitchen table with friends yelling over dice rolls. This Nintendo adaptation nails the core loop: deploy armies, attack neighbors, hold continents for bonus reinforcements each turn. The AI opponents play competently enough, and you can adjust difficulty to avoid either a steamroll or a stalemate. What's missing is the table talk. Risk lives in negotiation, betrayal, and the paranoia of watching three players gang up on whoever's winning. Solo or against mute computer opponents, it's technically correct but hollow. It's worth a spin if you grew up on the board game and want a quick digital version without hunting for players, but don't expect this to capture why Risk mattered in the first place.
