Lost Planet 3 trades the over-the-top insect battles of its predecessors for a grittier survival angle. You're a miner on E.D.N. III dealing with extreme weather, hostile flora, and rival corporate forces. The campaign is workmanlike third-person shooting with some environmental puzzle-solving and mech sections that break up the standard cover-and-fire rhythm. Nothing revolutionary, but it's functional if you don't expect AAA polish. The game stumbles with dated animations, clunky gunplay, and a story that doesn't earn its setup. Multiplayer exists but feels abandoned at this point. If you loved the original Lost Planet's weird energy and don't mind a decade-old game's rough edges, there's enough here to kill a weekend. For everyone else, this is a curiosity piece that didn't age well.
