Isonzo plants you in the Alpine warfare of northern Italy, 1915-1918, where elevation and trench positioning matter more than twitch reflexes. The tactical layer is real: squad roles matter, supply lines matter, terrain dictates approach angles. It's slower than Call of Duty, closer to Squad's methodology but smaller-scale. The catch is population. This is a boutique multiplayer FPS with a lean playerbase, which means queue times and server scarcity outside peak hours. Solo modes exist but lack the depth of coordinated squad play. Metacritic sits at 73, reflecting solid mechanics undermined by thin content and network effect problems.
