I went in expecting Ranger to be what the base Elven Legacy was: a competent turn-based tactics game with grid-based positioning and squad micromanagement. The new ranger units and abilities exist, but they don't fundamentally change how you think about army composition or tactical positioning. The campaign structure is linear and forgettable, lacking the variety or strategic depth that would make replaying levels worthwhile. If you've already sunk time into Elven Legacy's core game and want more maps to puzzle through, Ranger delivers exactly that: more of the same.
