Bassmaster Fishing 2022
A fishing sim that takes bass tournaments seriously, but stumbles on depth where it should shine.
GamerScout Verdict
Solid casual fishing fun that doesn't deliver the strategic depth competitive bass sim fans deserve.

About Bassmaster Fishing 2022
I came to Bassmaster Fishing 2022 expecting the usual licensed sports-game polish, but what I found was a competent-if-shallow recreation of competitive bass fishing. The core loop, scout locations, cast, manage tension, reel, works fine for a few hours. Multiplayer tournaments add structure, and controller support is solid. But there's no meaningful progression system, AI difficulty feels flat across all presets, and the tutorial doesn't explain why you'd choose one lure over another. The cosmetic packs (including that Synthwave boat wrap) feel like window dressing on a title that needed more systems depth. If you want to kill an afternoon catching virtual largemouths with friends, this does the job. But if you're hoping for the kind of decision-making, gear tuning, weather patterns affecting strategy, rival AI that adapts, that separates sim-heads from casual players, you'll leave disappointed. The foundation is there. The ambition isn't.
