About Assassins Creed: Liberation HD
I went in expecting a watered-down side game, but Liberation HD surprised me with genuine narrative ambition. You play Aveline de Grandpre, an assassin whose memories are being recontextualized by Abstergo for propaganda purposes, which the game uses to add a clever meta layer to what's already a solid period piece. The dual-identity mechanic, switching between Assassin, Lady, and Slave personas to infiltrate different social spaces, keeps mission design fresh and rewards creative problem-solving over brute force. That said, this is still a direct port of a handheld title, and it shows. The parkour feels stiffer than mainline entries, side objectives can feel busy without substance, and technical rough edges remind you why this stayed confined to Uplay. If you're a completionist series fan or drawn to Aveline's story specifically, it's worth the time. Everyone else should know what they're signing up for: a lean, weird experiment, not a full flagship experience.
