About Ace Attorney Investigations Collection Pre-order Bonus (DLC)
My first instinct when a pre-order bonus DLC lands on a storefront page is to ask one blunt question: does it change the game, or does it just change the playlist? Here, the answer is firmly the latter. This item unlocks five specially arranged tracks from Ace Attorney Investigations 2: Prosecutor's Gambit, all of them pulled from that game's most charged moments. The specific tracks are the Objection theme for Miles Edgeworth, both Confrontation themes (Allegro 2011 and Presto 2011), and the two versions of Pursuit - Uncover the Truth. They slot into the base collection's audio settings and can be toggled on or off at any point, or enjoyed separately through the in-game Gallery's Music Collection section. To be clear about what you are actually buying: this is not a case pack, not a story expansion, not a costume set. It is a handful of orchestral rearrangements of tracks that already exist in the base game. The base collection itself is a genuinely excellent two-game package, praised widely for bringing both Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth and the long-unavailable Prosecutor's Gambit together with remastered HD sprites, chapter select, autoplay mode, and a full official English localization of the second game. None of that is touched here. This DLC sits entirely on the surface of that experience. The arrangements themselves are good, for what they are worth. The collection's rearranged music was one of the more warmly received aspects of the overall release, with reviewers noting the orchestral versions land particularly hard during case climaxes. Whether five tracks justify a separate line item on a storefront is a different question. Capcom's own product page notes the bonus content may become available separately at a later date, which is worth keeping in mind if you are browsing this page well after the September 2024 release window. Who is this for? Completionists who want every audio option ticked, and dedicated series fans who will notice and appreciate the difference between the arranged and original versions of these specific tracks. If you play Ace Attorney games on mute, or you simply never go into audio settings, this DLC will have zero impact on your experience. If you are the kind of player who sits in the Gallery and listens to the full OST between cases, it is a small but genuine extra. Treat it accordingly. Alex, Scout Team
