Pure cosmetic DLC for a niche werewolf brawler that already divides opinion - grab it only if you are already sold on Earthblood and want Cahal dressed for the occasion.

My honest take upfront: reviewing a cosmetic-only DLC is really reviewing the base game's appetite for extras, so let's be direct about what this pack actually is before anyone hands over money. The Exiled One bundle drops a single thematic outfit set on protagonist Cahal - a dark jacket carrying the Ahroun warrior Auspice emblem, plus black fur reskins for both the wolf (Lupus) and full Crinos werewolf forms. That is the complete contents. No new missions, no story chapter, no mechanical additions whatsoever. To know whether that matters, you need a feel for what Earthblood itself is. Cyanide Studio built a budget-tier action game around the World of Darkness licence, letting you shift between three forms: human Cahal for dialogue and hub exploration, the four-legged Lupus wolf for stealth and vent-crawling, and the towering Crinos for combat. The Crinos splits further into Agile and Heavy stances, each tuned to different enemy types, and the moment-to-moment feel of smashing through a room of Endron mercenaries as a giant feral beast is genuinely satisfying in that pure, switch-off-your-brain way. The Lupus stealth sections are surprisingly fluid too, even if the AI never really tests you. The consistent criticism from players and critics is that the loop gets repetitive well before the credits roll, the story underserves the rich World of Darkness lore, and the production values look a generation behind. Character models arrived late from around 2010, boss encounters blur together, and the stealth system loses its relevance as the campaign progresses - most players end up just triggering Crinos rage from the first sign of an enemy and rolling through rooms. It is, fairly described, an average game with one exceptional thing going for it: the raw tactile pleasure of being an enormous werewolf who is very difficult to stop. Against that backdrop, The Exiled One skin set is squarely for the player who logged enough time with Earthblood to care about how Cahal looks. The dark fur on the Crinos and Lupus forms does have some visual coherence with the "exile" theme baked into Cahal's backstory, and if you are doing repeat runs or just enjoy the combat sandbox, having a visually distinct look for both beast forms is a small but real addition to immersion. Note that this pack is separate from the Champion of Gaia cosmetic DLC - the two sets do not overlap, so completionists hunting every cosmetic will need both. Casual players who finished the game once and moved on have no practical reason to return for this. Bottom line: Earthblood is a rough, repetitive, oddly likeable action game that works best as a low-stakes stress reliever. This DLC adds nothing to that experience mechanically - it is purely a cosmetic extension for dedicated fans of Cahal and his World of Darkness setting. Alex, Scout Team
