I went in expecting pure nostalgia bait, and that's partly what TopWare RTS Collection is. These are real-time strategy games from the late 90s and early 2000s, when the genre was still figuring out its own rules. The interface feels ancient, pathfinding is janky, and the visuals won't impress anyone who's played StarCraft or Command & Conquer since then. That said, the core resource management and tactical layer aren't broken, they're just unpolished in ways modern players will find friction-heavy. If you're chasing a specific nostalgia hit or want to see where TopWare's strategy DNA came from, there's something worth exploring here. Don't expect this to compete with modern RTS revival games.
