I've played enough adventure games to recognize when a small studio swings for something strange instead of safe. Theatre of the Absurd doesn't have AAA production values or a household name attached, but it commits hard to its premise: a young girl trapped in a remote theatre with something ancient and hostile, and you're hunting through the darkness for answers. The puzzles aren't handholding tutorials either - they require actual observation and logic, which is rarer than it should be in this genre. The trade-off is obvious. But that's kind of the appeal if you're tired of adventure games that explain every plot point twice.
